L.A. Welcomes Oldies & Classical

K-SurfThis Saturday, March 11, Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters, the operator of KKGO (Go Country 105) and Adult Standards KBOQ (1260 Unforgettable)/Los Angeles will launch an Oldies format on KKGO’s HD2 channel. That new service has been branded as K-SURF to better identify with the California beach lifestyle.

As if that wasn’t enough Oldies excitement for one day, the company announced that it’s going to expand its Oldies footprint yet again on March 18, as 1260 Unforgettable kicks off Oldies weekends that will run from 5pm Fridays until 9am Mondays. The format will also be available continuously online at laoldies.com.

And there’s more — publicly supported Jazz and Blues outlet KKJZ (88.1 K-JAZZ), a service of California State University Long Beach, yesterday launched a new 24-hour Classical programming service on its HD2 channel and online at www.jazzandblues.org. KKJZ will continue its Jazz and Blues programming as always at kkjz.org.
