On Monday, July 10, at precisely 4:29pm CT, more than 40 Chicago radio stations spanning all formats will jointly demonstrate the mighty power of radio by simultaneously airing a 60-second spot featuring Ed Wehmer, Founder, President & CEO of Wintrust Financial Corporation, who will briefly discuss (hey, it’s a :60) how radio is the most effective medium for advertisers. This will be the second annual demonstration of “Chicago Radio Drives Real Results,” an ongoing initiative to exhibit the power of radio.
“The Radio Broadcasters of Chicagoland (RBC) are proud to unite as a group to highlight Wintrust and their investment in Radio,” said Matt Scarano, Chairman of Illinois Broadcasters Association’s Radio Broadcasters of Chicagoland Committee. “Wintrust is a valued partner to our industry and a testament to the results that radio delivers for an advertiser.” Wehmer said, “Wintrust is the second largest bank holding company headquartered in Chicago and it’s very important for us to connect with the local community. IBA applauds our Chicago members for their cooperative effort in proving that effectiveness and telling that story via this unique roadblock initiative.” Chicago Radio Drives Real Results was introduced last year with a 30-minute live conversation with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel that aired on 47 area radio stations. The conversation was heard by one-third of Chicago’s population, according to Nielsen.
