Mitchell & Ray Take Mornings On Easy 93.1

• Cox Media Group Miami has revealed the new morning show for AC WFEZ (Easy 93.1) — the newly minted team of Bobby Mitchell and Korby Ray will debut on Monday, July 17. They will succeed former Easy 93.1 morning duo Jeff Martin and Giselle Andres — Martin left last Friday, and Andres exited in April.

For Mitchell, it’s a return to South Florida, and to the very same building where he hosted mornings on WHYI (Y-100) from 1988-98. Mitchell’s major market resume also includes mornings on KPLX/Dallas (1998-2006) and WOMC/Detroit (2010-2018). He most recently did mornings on Saga AC WSNY (Sunny 95)/Columbus, OH until July 2021. Korby Ray, who joined Easy 93.1 as APD in Nov. 2020, will shift from her top-rated midday position to take on mornings with Mitchell.

“Bobby is a one-of-a-kind talent who I had the opportunity to share the hallways with while in Detroit,” said Ian Richards, Director of Branding & Programming. “Korby is a rising star who has proven herself in middays, so we’re very happy to bring these two together and see what they accomplish.”

“Florida is under a malaria alert, invasive giant African snails have quarantined parts of several counties, and a layer of Saharan dust is headed to Miami this weekend. Seemed like the right time to return to the 305,” Mitchell joked. “Seriously, for culture, art, entertainment, sunshine, cuisine, the beaches, the people! — there’s not a better place to live in the world. I’m thrilled to be back!” Ray added, “This is a dream come true! Mornings in Miami on Easy 93.1 with the legend, Bobby Mitchell.”

Ian Richards is now searching for a new midday personality to succeed Korby Ray — stand by for details.
