Ransford’s Mile-High Mission

Elsewhere in the Denver hallways… we broke this news back in March, but iHeartMedia has finally issued the press release formally announcing Kelly Ransford as the new Director of Event Marketing for the eight-station cluster — Top 40 KPTT (95.7 The Party), Alternative KTCL (Channel 93.3), Active Rock KBPI, Classic Rock KRFX (103.5 The Fox), Triple A KBCO, News-Talk KHOW-AM and KOA-AM and Sports-Talk KDSP (Denver Sports 760).

Ransford was most recently Music Director at CBS Radio Triple A WXRT/Chicago, and the move to Denver marks a radio homecoming — earlier in her career Ransford worked down the hall at KOA-AM/FM and KBCO/Denver. Ransford also spent a decade as APD/MD at KFOG/San Francisco and she also worked at KMTT and KNDD/Seattle.

In her new position, Ransford will spearhead iHeartMedia Denver’s multiple events throughout the year, working closely with Ryan Clune, iHeartMedia Denver Region’s SVP of Sales, on sponsorships and revenue opportunities. She will also work with the stations’ programming departments to promote the market’s events on air and online. “Kelly will be a dynamic force in this new role for iHeartMedia Denver as our event partnerships continue to evolve,” said Clune. “She has an amazing reputation within the industry and I’m thrilled for her to bring that to the team here at iHeartMedia Denver.”

No less thrilled about her new gig is Ms. Ransford, who said, “I’m beyond thrilled to be returning to Denver and iHeartMedia. The incredible team and environment is why the market is considered one of the country’s elite. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work with eight premiere radio brands and the immensely talented and passionate teams driving their success. I look forward to working together to break more grounds and achieve new levels.”
