Brian James Comes Home To WTOS/Augusta

• Augusta, Maine-based Blueberry Broadcasting announces the hire of native son Brian James as the new Program Director/afternoon drive talent for Active Rock WTOS (Pure Rock 101.1, 105.1, 105.3)/Augusta-Bangor, ME. James, a.k.a. “The Guru,” starts his new job by driving an hour north from Portland, where he spent the past 33+ years with Townsquare Media as MD/on-air at Classic Rock WBLM (a.k.a. The Rock N’ Roll Blimp”) and Alternative WCYY.

In making the announcement of James’ imminent arrival, Blueberry Broadcasting VP/COO Bruce Biette said, “Brian is a master at his craft. He’s a real-deal radio guy and we are looking forward to him being a member of of the Blueberry team and helping take the legendary WTOS brand to even newer heights.” James taking the PD helm of WTOS will also help take some of the programming load off of a very busy Jack O’Brien, Director of Programming and Operations.

The move to WTOS marks a full-circle moment for James, who said, “Joining Maine-owned Blueberry Broadcasting is a dream come true for me. I was born and raised in Maine’s capital city of Augusta, so this is a true homecoming. The first Rock station I worked for was WTOS in the summer of 1987, just before I boarded the Rock N’ Roll Blimp. I’ve spent the first half of my career at a legendary Maine Rock station and I’m going to to the same for the next half… That’s right, I plan on being on the radio for another 30+ years.” Your best wishes can be sent to James at guru@blueberrybroadcasting.com.
