Fox VP/Music Prog. For Entercom Dallas
• Longtime Entercom Sacramento VP of Programming Jim Fox is calling around for moving estimates, thanks to his new gig as Vice President of Music Programming for the company’s Dallas-Fort Worth cluster, effective December 21. He will also serve as Program Director for Adult Hits KJKK (100.3 Jack FM) and KVIL, which flipped to ALT 103.7 under Fox’s direction on November 17, the day the Entercom/CBS Radio merger closed. Fox has worked in Sacramento since 2003 and he will remain in his current role as VP of Programming for the Sacramento cluster until the end of the year.
“Jim has guided the Alternative format for [KKDO] Radio 94.7 and [Active Rock KRXQ] 98 Rock to exceptional ratings performance in Sacramento,” said Brian Purdy, Regional President and Market Manager for Entercom Dallas-Fort Worth. “We can count on him for outstanding leadership, strategy, ideas, operation, coaching and partnership.”
In breaking the news to Fox’s colleagues in Sacramento, VP/Market Manager Lance Richard said, “Jim has been an incredible leader here in Sacramento for over 14 years and has been a big part of our success. Under his leadership we have built a portfolio of radio brands that has put us in the enviable position to dominate almost every demographic group. Jim’s impact hasn’t just been limited to just ratings success — countless employees, from programming, to promotions, to engineering, to traffic, to creative, to sales have been impacted by Jim’s coaching and have grown into true radio professionals.”
As he searched through his garage for a suitcase, Fox remarked, “It’s an underestimation to say that this is an exciting time to be a part of Entercom. I’m honored and extremely proud to have the good fortune to leave one incredibly successful Entercom cluster to join another incredibly successful Entercom cluster in Dallas under the leadership of Brian Purdy.”
