González Named SVPP For iHeartLatino
• In another story that broke during the holiday break, Pedro Javier González was named SVP of Programming for iHeartLatino. In his new position, the Miami-based González will report to Enrique Santos, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer of iHeartLatino and Brad Hardin, EVP/GM of iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group and work closely with both guys to oversee the iHeartLatino brand and programming strategy. González will also work with the National Programming Group’s Artist Relations department to plan and book talent for the company’s annual iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina concert.
González comes to iHeartLatino after a 13-year stint with Univision, most recently as VP of Content for Univision Radio. His extensive background also includes serving as VP of Programming for Uno Radio Group in his native Puerto Rico, where he oversaw the top three stations in the market. González began his radio career at the age of 17 in Puerto Rico. “Pedro knows that this is an ever-changing industry and is always ahead of the game when it comes to adapting to the listeners needs and demands,” said Santos, who worked with González at Univision. “His vast experience building winning radio teams, combined with his programing knowledge and expertise will be key in our continued growth. I’m thrilled to welcome Pedro ‘PJ’ González to his new role at iHeartLatino.”
