Introducing Bounce ‘Ambassadors’

PrintBeasley’s Throwback Hip Hop headquarters WMGC (105.1 The Bounce)/Detroit launched in July, generating a historic response from Motor City listeners. With the format now fully established, The Bounce proudly introduces its inaugural set of Bounce “Ambassadors,” who will serve as the primary anchors and DJs. The first three names are familiar to local listeners — pictured, (l-r): Detroit natives Suga Rae, DJ Dinero and Reggie Reg are now aboard, and, as we teased earlier this week, Deongello “Gello” Vanorsby (right) joins from mornings at Sierra H Rhythmic KNRJ (101.1 The Beat)/Phoenix. Bounce PD Al Payne commented, “After a thorough search, we’re proud to announce our first wave of Bounce ‘Ambassadors,’ who are responsible for navigating nearly a million Detroit Throwback Hip Hop and R&B fans through their time they spend with us.”

For the past few years, Suga Rae, a.k.a. “Motor Mouth,” has worked in Dallas, Austin and Seattle but she’s now come home to host “Suga’s Bounce House” Monday-Saturday from 10am-3pm. Michigan native DJ Dinero has been an essential part of the Detroit music scene for many years. He got his start working at clubs and concert venues all over the state and has been part of some of the largest music events in Metro Detroit and on local radio for years. He will mix live for 105 minutes commercial-free weekdays at 7:10 am, 12:10pm and 4:10pm.

Gello is a ten-year radio vet whose passion for broadcasting started as a teenager in Phoenix. “Growing up my mother always told me my purpose was to love,” he said. “What better way to show that love than to be on the radio.” Listen to “The Gello Show” Monday-Saturday from 3-7pm. Reggie Reg Davis, a.k.a. “Everybody’s Cousin” is a fixture in Detroit and has also done TV and radio in Greensboro, Tampa and Los Angeles. Reggie Reg’s “Bouncin’ For The City” airs Sundays from 10am-3pm. Payne added, “We have been amazed at and humbled by the response to this station! Every listener we encounter has their own interpretation of what our Bounce music means to them, therefore we want each tune in to both meet their expectations and be special!”
