Miles Anzaldo New MD of KROQ/Los Angeles
• Miles Anzaldo is trading frosty Minnesota for sunny Los Angeles as the newly named Music Director for Entercom’s World Famous KROQ, effective March 26. Anzaldo has served as APD/MD of Alternative KQGO (GO 96.3)/Minneapolis since 2015. Prior to that, he spent ten years with KITS (Live 105)/San Francisco on-air and as Assistant Music Director.
“After an extensive search for the next Music Director, I am beyond thrilled to welcome Miles Anzaldo to KROQ,” said Jeff Federman, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Los Angeles. “Miles grew up in the music and radio business in Southern California and is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about our business. His understanding of digital and social content will certainly help the station continue to expand beyond Broadcast.”
Kevin Weatherly, SVP of Programming for Entercom Los Angeles said, “We’re excited to have Miles join the team and help take KROQ to new heights, His passion for music and understanding of our local community will make him an integral part of the team.”
Anzaldo, the son and nephew of industry vets Anthony Anzaldo and Terry Anzaldo, respectively, said, “I’m beyond humbled to call myself a member of the KROQ family. To call this a ‘dream job’ would be a vast understatement. It’s a thrill, not only to return home to California, but to be on team Entercom. Big thanks to Kevin Weatherly for this incredible opportunity. I cannot wait to work alongside him, Jeff Federman and the most talented crew of radio superstars in the country.”
Anzaldo succeeds Lisa Worden, who is now VP of Programming for iHeartMedia rival KYSR (ALT 98.7)/Los Angeles and Alternative Rock Brand Manager for iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group.
