Kiss FM/Chicago Ups Showbiz Factor

• Chicago radio veteran Showbiz Shelly has been hired as the new midday personality on iHeartMedia Top 40 WKSC (103.5 Kiss FM). She will report to Tommy Austin, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Chicago Region. If Shelly’s name sounds familiar, it’s because she spent the better part of the past decade as the morning co-host on Entercom rival WBBM (B96) until last month.

“Showbiz Shelly is a Chicago institution,” said Matt Scarano, President of iHeartMedia Markets Group’s Chicago Region. “Shelly is a true radio pro with tremendous Chicago roots and I am honored that she chose to join the iHeartMedia Chicago team.”

Shelly, a Chicago native, is also a regular entertainment contributor to CBS and FOX, and has also appeared on NBC, ABC and TMZ. She’s a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where she was head of the Arts and Entertainment division for the Northwestern News Network. Commenting on her new opportunity, Shelly said, “I’m so thrilled to be joining 103.5 Kiss FM and the iHeartMedia Chicago family.
