Local Focus For Connoisseur CT
Connoisseur Media Connecticut announces a bunch of changes designed to more deeply focus on being more local and involved in the community — let’s start with Classic Rock WFOX (95.9 The Fox)/Bridgeport, which introduces Ken Tuccio as its new morning host. Tuccio has risen to prominence in the Stamford/Norwalk market thanks to the success of his popular Welcome to Connecticut podcast. WFOX also welcomes new midday host Pam Ciaburri (of WPLR’s Chaz & AJ show) and night jock Cari Edwards, upped from P/T.
• Mainstream Rock WPLR/New Haven also returns its focus solely on the New Haven market with Chaz and AJ in the morning, Wiggy, Mike Lapitino and new night jock Ryan Roberts, also upped from P/T. Kevin Begley, PD of sister WEZN (Star 99.9)/Bridgeport and WFOX now adds WPLR to his programming portfolio, as Keith Dakin now concentrates on his Operations Manager duties for the cluster. And on that same subject, Allan Lamberti now assumes PD stripes for Classic Rock WDRC (102.9 The Whale)/Hartford, where he also does nights. The Whale also features Michael Picozzi in mornings, Suzi Klonk in middays and Mr. Dakin in afternoon drive.
• The Talk of CT (WDRC-AM/Hartford, WMMW-AM/Meriden, WWCO-AM/Waterbury and WSNG-AM/Torrington, CT) adds newscaster extraordinaire Dan Lovallo to the Brad Davis Show every weekday morning from 6-9am. Lovallo will also host his own politics-focused show, CT On The Hill weekdays at 9am. Keith Dakin remarked, “These changes, across our portfolio, indicate a strong commitment to localism. Radio will continue to be vibrant if it remains a true fabric of the community with more local morning shows, local news and people from Connecticut behind the microphones.”
