Sony Music Nashville Moves

Sony Music Nashville announces two personnel moves, starting with Mallory Opheim, who joins the company as Southwest Regional for RCA Nashville. She succeeds David “Bubba” Berry, who segues to Arista Nashville as Northeast Regional. The good news was delivered by Steve Hodges, EVP of Promotion & Artist Development, Sony Music Nashville.

“We are elated to welcome Mallory to the RCA Nashville family,” said Dennis Reese, SVP of Promotion, RCA Nashville. “She brings passion and excitement to our team. We are lucky to have her on our staff.”

Opheim spent the past four years in the promotion department of Warner Bros. A 2010 Belmont University graduate, Opheim’ first promotion position was with Red Bow from 2012 to 2014. “What an honor it is to work with the incredible RCA Nashville promotion team and artist roster,” Opheim said. “Thanks to Dennis Reese and Steve Hodges for this amazing opportunity to join Sony Music Nashville.” Opheim will be based at Sony Music Nashville’s headquarters and can be reached at mallory.opheim@sonymusic.com.

A 26-year promo pro, Berry began his career at Giant Records in 1992 as Promotion Manager of the Gavinchart. He later worked as Manager of Regional Promotion for BNA Records from 2006-2012. Josh Easler, VP of Promotion for Arista Nashville, said, “I’m extremely excited to be officially reunited with Bubba. His many years of experience will serve him well as he transitions to his new role in the northeast for Arista Nashville.” Berry said, “I’m thrilled to join Josh Easler’s team and play a part of the future of Arista Nashville.” Berry will remain in Dallas for now and eventually relocate to Baltimore. He can be contacted at david.berry@sonymusic.com.
