‘Janda Lane Is In My Ears…’
• Hubbard Classic Rock WDRV (97-1 The Drive)/Chicago welcomes Janda Lane in a new, multi-purpose role — she will contribute content and information to Steve Seaver‘s afternoon drive show while also lending assistance to The Drive’s programming department, starting Monday, July 9.
Ms. Lane arrives bearing two decades of multimedia experience, including radio stops at WEND/Charlotte; WAVF/Charleston, SC; KNDD/Seattle and 91X/San Diego. She also spent time in Los Angeles working at KCRW and at Soundbreak.com. On the label side, Lane has worked for Sub Pop Records, Rhino Entertainment and Silva Artist Management. Lane also spent nine years as an Executive Producer at Yahoo! Music, and she most recently served as Content Director for Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.
WDRV PD Rob Cressman commented, “We are fortunate and delighted to welcome Janda to the team at The Drive. Her remarkably diverse experience, unique resourcefulness and optimistic outlook provide an ideal match for the Hubbard-Chicago team. As so many broadcast corporations continue to downsize, it’s refreshing and energizing to be afforded the opportunity to strengthen our roster with the addition of such a consummate professional.”
Lane remarked, “I’m thrilled to be joining the legendary WDRV, and am so excited to be collaborating again with Rob Cressman, with whom I share downright amazing radio memories dating back to our time working together at WAVF/Charleston. To have the opportunity to join the stellar staff at The Drive and work with Rob again in Chicago — a city that, for me, has always held its own brand of singular magic — is an absolute dream come true. I look forward to connecting with this audience and becoming a part of this awesome community!”
