KGOR/Omaha Debuts Montez & Shari
• iHeartMedia Classic Hits 99.9 KGOR/Omaha has filled its morning vacancy with a couple of very familiar market vets — Mornings with Montez & Shari debuts at 5:30am today and stars the newly minted duo of Montez and Shari Stone.
Montez (left) is a 20-year Omaha radio pro who began his radio career right out of high school at the former KESY (now KSRZ). He was most recently MD/afternoon personality at iHeartMedia Top 40 sister KISO (96.1 Kiss FM). Ms. Stone crosses the street from Salem Contemporary Christian KGBI, where she was Digital Project Coordinator and midday talent. She previously did middays at the former KZFX (101.9 The Fox), and she got her first radio break at WOW-AM & FM/Omaha.
“We are truly excited to have these two genuinely warm, funny and highly respected talents be a part of one of the biggest stations in town,” said Erik Johnson, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Omaha. “This show will bring a new element of fun to Omaha morning radio.” In a joint statement, Montez and Shari said, “Being from Omaha, we both couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to serve our community in a fun way, because we love this town. We can’t wait to entertain every morning and grow our big, radio family.”
Montez and Shari succeed Tim Sheridan, who exited last week.
