Lori Lewis Joins Modern Luxury
• Industry pro and social media maven Lori Lewis is about to be reunited with her former Cumulus boss, Lew Dickey — Lewis is relocating to Atlanta on Oct. 8 to join Lew and CEO Michael Dickey in the newly created position of Vice President, Social Media for the Dickey-owned Modern Luxury, which is described as “the country’s largest local luxury media company with 84 titles in the top 24 markets in the United States.”
Lewis recently resigned her post as VP of Social Media for Cumulus Media & Westwood One after three years, and we have been anxiously awaiting her announcement. “To say I am honored to rejoin Lew Dickey’s vision and leadership, and join Michael Dickey, CEO of Modern Luxury, is an understatement,” Lewis said. “I am beyond thrilled. My primary focus is to create and support Modern Luxury’s brand and revenue goals by development and management of processes and platform strategies against key KPIs to ensure Modern Luxury culture cuts through and translates into best-in-class online experience for the audience and our clients.”
Lewis’ career spans over 25 years, starting as an air talent on the syndicated Bubba the Love Sponge show. In 2008, Lewis transitioned to the social/digital realm in the newly created position of Director of Digital and Social Strategies for Duke Wright‘s Midwest Communications. In March 2011, Jacobs Media tapped Lewis in a similar role. In May 2015, Lewis was first recruited by Lew Dickey to join Cumulus as VP, Social Media. Since 2015 Lewis has also served as Chair of the Conclave Learning Conference, which is prepping its 44th annual confab in 2019.
• Interestingly, Ms. Lewis joins another high level Cumulus Media veteran at Modern Luxury — former SVP, Major Markets Gary Pizzati recently joined Modern Luxury Media as President & Chief Revenue Officer, and here’s the fun part — Modern Media Acquisition is currently sitting on $210.71 million war chest and has until Nov. 17 to spend that money on media-related assets — or give it back.
