VP Stripes For Columbia’s Navarra
• Columbia Records has promoted Mike Navarra to Vice President of Publicity. Navarra, an 11-year company vet, was most recently Sr. Director of Publicity. The announcement was made by his boss, Kimberly Harris, Columbia Senior Vice President of Publicity, who said, “Mike is a talented and creative executive who has been an integral part of our team. His relationship with artists and media partners allows him the ability to extend the reach for our artists in unconventional ways. The entire company joins me in congratulating Mike on his promotion.”
Navarra began his career in 2007 as an intern in the Columbia Records’ rhythm radio department. He was drafted into Columbia’s “Big Red” internship program in 2008 and transitioned into publicity the following year. He was assigned then-unknown One Direction and helped to establish the band as one of the breakthrough acts of the decade. He has subsequently contributed to the launch and success of Harry Styles, Grace VanderWaal, Little Mix, Zhavia Ward, PRETTYMUCH, Juicy J and others. Navarra was honored as a Billboard 40 under 40 Rising Star in 2015 and holds a Bachelor’s in Communications from Penn State University.
Navarro commented, “I want to thank Kim, Jen Mallory and Ron Perry for their support. To be able to work alongside this great team on an incredible array of projects with the best artists in the world has been an extraordinary opportunity. I look forward to contributing to Columbia’s success and growth toward the future.”
