Philly Radio Sells Itself
• A bunch of Philadelphia radio stations gathered together on Wednesday to host local ad agencies, marketers, business owners and media executives. The event was called: Radio. It’s On In Philadelphia — exclusively focused on radio’s attributes and how it can successfully drive revenue for Philly business owners. The event was produced by the RAB, in partnership with Beasley Media Group, Entercom Communications, iHeartMedia and Radio One, and sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters.
Featured speakers included Brad Kelly, Managing Director of Nielsen Audio; Erica Farber, President & CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau; Matt O’Grady, President & CEO of Nielsen Catalina Solutions; and Chris Smith, Creative Group Head of The Richards Group.
To conclude the event, some of the market’s top on air talent sat down with Joe Conti, President of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters to discuss the personal connections and relationships they form with listeners across the local community every day — Michael Bennett, Entercom Hot AC WTDY; John DeBella, Beasley Classic Rock WMGK; Cherri Gregg, Entercom’s KYW NewsRadio; The Quincy Harris Morning Show with K. Foxx, Radio One Urban AC WRNB; Patty Jackson, iHeartMedia Urban AC WDAS; Frank Lario, Beasley Country WXTU; Amber Miller, iHeartMedia Alternative WRFF (Radio 104.5) and Pierre Robert of Beasley Active Rock WMMR.
“This was a great opportunity for local business owners, advertising agencies, and marketers to gain insight that will work towards driving their business forward,” Farber noted afterward. “By bringing together the local Philadelphia market, we were able to spread the word to local business owners and advertising agencies regarding radio’s uncanny ability to connect with the local community unlike any other medium.”
