Promotion Party At WSOC/Charlotte

• Beasley Media Group is pleased to announce three major staff promotions at Country WSOC (The New 103.7)/Charlotte, starting with the news that market icon Jack Daniel has been named as the new Program Director of the New 103.7  along with Southern Classic Rock WBCN (94.7 Smoke). Daniel (left) will continue to drive Charlotte home weekday afternoons on AC sister WKQC (K104.7). Daniel boasts nearly five decades of radio experience, much of it spent in the Charlotte market since 1975. Over the course of his career Daniel has served as in a variety of capacities, including OM, PD, MD, VP/GM and on-air personality.

• Next up: WSOC night jock Philip “Big Sexy” Tabakelis has been named as the Assistant Program Director for The New 103.7 FM. Mr. Sexy (center) began his career in the WSOC promotions department in 2006 and worked his way up. He was named as the permanent night host in August of 2009, and since then, The Big Sexy Show has consistently ranked in the top 3 night shows in the market.

• And we mentioned this news a while back, but now it’s official: Mimi Wheeler has added the title of Music Director at WSOC. She will continue as co-host of the Tanner in the Morning and Asst. Digital Program Director. Wheeler (right) joined WSOC in June, coming from the MD/Promotions Director post at Curtis Media Country WQDR/Raleigh. She previously worked at WTQR (Q104.1) and WNCB (B93.9)/Greensboro.
