In a lengthy Facebook post, Bridges said, in part, “It is with many mixed emotions to share I have chosen not extend my agreement and will be leaving Detroit by the end of the year. Totally my choice, company has been terrific as I made the decision also.”
Bridges arrived in Detroit in April 2014 as the new PD of WDRQ, accepting a major market transfer from the PD chair at sister WEBE 108/Bridgeport, CT. Bridges originally joined Cumulus in 2008 as APD/afternoon talent on WEBE. He later programmed WFAS-FM/Westchester, NY and was also on the air at WPLJ/New York and the True Oldies Channel before returning to WEBE in 2013.
Bridges added, “It’s been an amazing 11-year ride with Cumulus that’s given me incredible opportunities, found me lifelong friends and left me with unforgettable memories. None more so, than in the Motor City!” Bridges says he’s planning to move back to Providence to spend more time focused on his family.
