Jarard J Takes Nights @ WAMJ/Atlanta
• Radio One Urban AC WAMJ (Majic 107.5/97.5), “The Real Sound of Atlanta” has hired “Jarard J” Johnson as its new evening personality.
Radio One RVP/GM Tim Davies said, “Jarard J has a strong, established brand in the market, so when we were searching for who would complement the Steve Harvey Morning Show, Maria More, and now, Ryan Cameron Uncensored in the afternoons, adding Jarard J was a perfect fit.” Majic PD Derek Harper commented, “Atlanta is one of the most competitive markets in the country. Our listeners expect the best talent, so when it came to adding talent to the Majic roster… this was a no-brainer.”
Jarard crosses the street from Entercom Urban WVEE (V103), where he spent the past four years as the “6th man,” performing a variety of roles. Johnson, formerly known as “JX3” back in the day, is probably best known for his 12-year run at Riviera Rhythmic KKFR (Power 98.3 & 96.1)/Phoenix until 2012.
Jarard said, “When [VP of Programming & Ops] Hurricane Daveand Derek Harper chose me, it illustrated the confidence and faith that the leadership team has in me and I was both humbled and honored. I feel like a first-round draft pick! I’m excited and ready to ball!” Jarard J starts next Monday, November 19 and will be heard weeknights from 6-10pm and Sunday afternoons from 2-6.
