Philly Now Home To Classix 107.9

• Radio One got busy in Philadelphia yesterday, flipping Urban Gospel WPPZ (Praise 107.9)/Philadelphia to Urban Oldies, now newly rebranded as Classix 107.9, “Philly’s Classic RnB.” The station’s library is now focusing on hits from the 1970s to early ’80s.

To help make room to accommodate this new format, we understand that Urban AC clustermate WRNB (100.3 RNB) has made the decision to skew more current, dropping a lot of its older library titles and has also rebranded from “Philly’s R&B and Old School” to Philly’s R&B Station.”

Fans of Praise 107.9, rejoice — the Gospel format remains available on WPPZ-HD2.
