Upgrades For Bridges, Breezy, Butter
Midwest Communications announced three personnel upgrades its Nashville cluster, which includes AC WJXA (Mix 92.9), Top 40 WNFN (i106.7) and Adult Hits WCJK (96.3 Jack-FM) — the promotion action begins with WJXA Brand Manager Barbara Bridges (left), who now assumes the enhanced role of Operations Manager for WJXA and WNFN. At the same time, i106.7 Asst. Brand Manager/afternoon personality Joe Breezy (center) is upped to Brand Manager of his station, effective February 1. Breezy arrived in Music City last summer from the APD/MD/afternoon spot at CBS Radio Top 40 WODS (103.3 AMP Radio)/Boston. Concurrent with Señor Breezy’s promotion, i106.7 midday personality Butter Harper (right) adds Asst. Brand Manager stripes. Harper is a member the original team that transitioned to Midwest’s ownership last June.
In making the announcement, VP/Market Manager Dennis Gwiazdon said, “We have always recruited and retained the best talent in our business. Having watched Barbara perform over the last 15 years has been a delight and I’m extremely excited to afford her this new opportunity to expand her skills. And Joe and Butter have been terrific additions to our team. I have no doubt that they will absolutely kill it in their new roles.”
Commenting on her promotion, Bridges said, “I’m so lucky to work with such talented and passionate people! We have a great history with all of our brands here in Nashville and it’s very exciting to think about what we’re going to continue to accomplish together in the years to come!” Breezy remarked, “Helping lead WNFN to new heights with such an amazing team is a dream come true for me! Special thanks to Barbara Bridges, Dennis Gwiazdon and Midwest VP of Programming, Jeff McCarthy, for the opportunity to continue Midwest Communications’ great winning history here in Nashville! 2017: bring it!“
