Porche Pulls An All-Nighter
• It’s rare these days when a radio station goes eight years in between fulltime hires. It’s even rarer still when that hire is for an increasingly rare radio position — fulltime overnights. Beasley Media’s WMMR/Philadelphia is pleased to announce Brent Porche (yes, that’s his real name) is the latest member of the fulltime line-up at America’s standard-bearer for the Rock format. WMMR has always employed a live and local personality for its overnight listeners since its 1968 sign-on, and Porche, who has a decade of experience on WMMR’s part-time airstaff, now takes the reins from Jacky Bam Bam, who was recently promoted to 7-midnight.
Porche commented, “It’s like a lifelong fan rooting for the Eagles and getting hired to play on the team — with all his favorite players! I’m honored to join Preston & Steve, Pierre Robert, Jaxon, Jacky and all the DJs on such a legendary station.” PD Bill Weston said, “Brent is a perfect fit for the starting five on WMMR — Great pipes, positive attitude and he gets the listener and client relationship.”
