Jackson Returns To Cedar Rapids
• KZIA, Inc. of Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, IA welcomes home prodigal son Chris Jackson as its new Operations Manager, overseeing Top 40 KZIA (Z102.9) and Sports-Talk KGYM-AM (ESPN 1600). Jackson will also program KZIA and do a 9-11am airshift for your enjoyment. The move marks a radio homecoming for Jackson, who did nights on KZIA from 2004 to 2011. After that he was APD/MD of CBS Radio Alternative KXTE (X107.5)/Las Vegas and more recently, APD/MD/midday personality on CBS Radio Hot AC KHMX (Mix 96.5)/Houston.
KZIA, Inc. President Rob Norton commented, “Chris brings a major market resume since he left us, and we are excited to have him maintain the major market sound.” Jackson remarked, “This company has always been like family to me, and there’s no better place to be than with family. This is also that radio fairy tale — the first station where I began doing overnight weekends is now the station I’m programming! KZIA Inc. values their people and believes in providing great local [and LIVE] radio, which is a winning formula in the Cedar Rapids market.” Jackson succeeds Greg Runyon, who left last fall after 11 years when his wife scored a huge job transfer to Dallas.
