Midwest Moves In Lansing & Wausau
• Duke Wright‘s Midwest Communications announced two interconnected programming moves — the action starts with the news that longtime company vet Terry Stevens has been tapped as the new Operations Manager for MWC’s group in Lansing, MI — Mainstream Rock WJXQ (Q106), Top 40 WLMI (i92.9), Classic Country WWDK (94.1 Duke FM) and Adult Hits WQTX (Fuel 92.1). Stevens will be directly programming WJXQ and replaces Mojo, who has left the company.
Stevens (left) earns the transfer to this newly created OM position from his current Brand Manager post at Active Rock sister WOZZ (Rock 94.7)/Wausau, WI. Mark Jaycox, Market Manager of MWC Lansing, commented, “The addition of Terry is a breath of fresh air. He is creative, passionate and offers a sincere drive to win.” Stevens, who has been with MWC since 2001, said, “The smartest decision I ever made was marrying my wife. • Meanwhile, back in Wausau… the company wasted zero time in finding a successor for Stevens, naming Ryan Fantozzi as the new Brand Manager of Rock 94.7, with a start date of May 13.
Fantozzi (right) will transition from his current PD/afternoon spot at Neuhoff Media’s WIHN (Rock 96.7)/Bloomington, IL, but he’s no stranger to the Midwest Communications’ crew, having previously worked for the company in Green Bay.
Wausau Market Manager Brett Lucht said, “We are excited about Ryan’s background in rock and the ability to wear many hats. He also comes to us with familiarity to Midwest Communications having worked for our Green Bay stations for six years. Ryan presented himself as a very passionate radio professional ready to take that next step.” Fantozzi stated, “I’m very excited to return to Midwest Communications and the state of Wisconsin next month. I can’t wait to be on WOZZ and become involved with the listeners and community of Central Wisconsin.”
