Eagle Flies High For 10 Years
• Cox Media Group Classic Rock KGLK (Houston’s Eagle 106.9 & 107.5), celebrated 10 years of rockin’ the market this past Saturday with a Birthday Brew Bash at No Label Brewing Company in Katy, TX. The party featured giveaways and live music as a token of thanks to Houston. A brief ceremony was held at 2pm hosted by the station’s core on-air talent: morning duo Dean + Rog, midday personality Jennifer Tyler, afternoon driver Scott Sparks and evening enchantress Maureen “Mo” Cooper.
Mark Krieschen, VP/Market Manager for Cox Media Group (CMG) Houston, said, “I’m very proud of the accomplishments we’ve made with The Eagle over the past 10 years. The station has had solid ratings from day one. Classic Rock continues to be one of the most popular music formats in radio; our core on-air talent makes The Eagle one of the most successful Classic Rock stations in the country.”
Fun Fact: The Eagle has been alone in the format since December 31, 2013 when its direct format competitor, KKRW (The Arrow) signed off after 20 years. By then, The Eagle had expanded to occupy two signals, 106.9 and 107.5 FM, creating the largest radio coverage area in Houston.
