Richman Upped To EVP At Atlantic
Sheila Richman has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Press & Media, for Atlantic Records. Richman, who joined Atlantic in 2004, was most recently SVP of Publicity. The announcement was made by Atlantic Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman and Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald. Leading a 16-member media team in New York and Los Angeles, Richman is responsible for directing media strategy for the entire Atlantic Group, which encompasses Atlantic Records, Big Beat, Elektra, Fueled By Ramen and Roadrunner.
Greenwald said of Richman, “She has not only reinvented the role of label publicity in the modern music business, but she has become an invaluable voice in helping Craig and me chart the course of this amazing company. I’m so proud to count her as my close colleague and great friend, and I’m thrilled to be able to acknowledge all she has done for our company with this richly deserved promotion.” Kallman remarked of Richman, “Her unequaled depth of knowledge and experience, combined with her infectious enthusiasm and passion, make her the greatest cheerleader for the Atlantic family. Sheila’s role on our team is far larger than her title suggests, and I join Julie in congratulating her on her new post.”
Richman commented, “Julie has been my mentor, friend, and biggest supporter since our days together at IDJ, and throughout my 13 years at Atlantic, Julie and Craig together have always been behind me 100 percent, giving me every resource necessary to build the best publicity team in the ever-changing media landscape. I want to thank them for this wonderful new opportunity.” [Photo credit: Jimmy Fontaine]
