Brooks Comes Home To Connecticut
• iHeartMedia has rewarded Joey Brooks with a transfer back to Connecticut and a promotion to Senior Vice President of Programming for the Hartford and New Haven markets, effective October 1. He will report to Steve Honeycomb, President of iHeartMedia’s Hartford Region and succeeds Dave Symonds, who recently left the company.
Brooks joins the iHeartMedia Connecticut market from iHeartMedia Miami, where he currently serves in the dual role of PD of Hot AC WMIA (939 MIA)and APD of Top 40 WHYI (Y100). The move also marks a gala New England homecoming for Brooks, who is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and started his radio career at iHeartMedia’s WXKS (Kiss 108)/Boston — and from 2002-2006 Brooks also served as APD/MD and air personality at one of the stations he will now oversee as SVPP — Top 40 WKSS (Kiss 95.7)/Hartford. Brooks’ other programming experience includes a stint as APD of iHeartMedia Top 40 WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia from 2006-2009 and MD of CHUM/Toronto from 2009-2012.
