Bonneville Denver Tackles Suicide Prevention

• September is Suicide Prevention Month, and Bonneville Denver will take a break from normal programming this weekend to broadcast a special edition of Mile High Magazine focused on suicide prevention.

This special, hosted by Murphy Huston and Melissa Moore will discuss suicide among teenagers, elderly and veterans. The show airs today, Saturday, Sept. 14 at 3pm MT on KKFN (104.3 The Fan), again at 8pm MT on KOSI 101.1, and tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 15 at 7pm on 98.5 KYGO.

“This is such a critical issue facing our community and affects so many families in the Denver area,” said Jim Lawson, PD of KOSI. The Fan will air the program following the football game between the University of Colorado and the Air Force Academy. “We hope to maximize the number of teenagers and parents we can reach to increase the difference we can make,” said Raj Sharan, PD of 104.3 The Fan. Bob Call, VP/GM of Bonneville Denver, remarked, “This will not be just a one-time program, but an on-going effort by our stations to discuss, educate and increase awareness of mental health issues and the tragedy of suicide.”
