Lisa May Unplugs From L.A. Radio
• Los Angeles commuters will soon have to come to grips with having to navigate through the city’s legendarily horrific rush hour traffic, unaccompanied by the soothing and familiar voice of Lisa May. Ms. May, a 30-year market vet — the last five as the Entertainment, News and Traffic Reporter on the Frosty, Heidi & Frank morning show on Meruelo Media Classic Rock KLOS/Los Angeles, announced she is leaving the show — and the industry — effective Friday, December 13. May announced she is moving to fashionable Palm Springs, CA to launch a new business.
Ms. May has been a popular morning drive presence in L.A. for the past three decades — she famously enjoyed a 25-year run across the street with the Kevin and Bean show on Entercom’s World Famous KROQ from 1990 until February 2015. She was wisely acquired by KLOS in May of that same year.
May commented, “As someone who loves L.A. and is weirdly obsessed with traffic, I am immensely grateful for my 30 years in Los Angeles radio. To say it has been an amazing ride is an understatement, and I want to thank 95.5 KLOS and The Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show for giving me the opportunity to spend my last five years on air with them. What an honor! I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life — I’m headed to the Palm Springs area to open up a sister-studio to Strength Code in Toluca Lake. My hope is to be able to move through the next 20-plus years with strength and grace, and to help others do the same.”
KLOS Program Director, Keith Cunningham remarked, “Lisa has touched millions of listeners in Southern California over the years and morning radio won’t be the same. Her familiar, calming voice and infectious laugh will truly be missed.”
