• In honor of Garth Brooks‘ “Dive Bar Tour” playing Prospector’s Grille & Saloon in Philadelphia on Monday, Dec. 2, Beasley Country WXTU magically morphed into “Garth 92.5” in tribute. To celebrate Garth’s long history with 92.5 XTU and to commemorate his historical show at Prospector’s, “Garth 92.5” will broadcast live from the venue and highlight some of Brooks’ biggest hits all day long.

WXTU has been in the Garth Brooks business since 1989, when it played his first single, “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old). In September 1998, Garth played six consecutive nights at the First Union Center. He returned on July 4, 2001 to play in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum to celebrate Philadelphia’s Welcome America Festival, and in March of 2017, Brooks brought his World Tour to Philadelphia and played four nights at the Wells Fargo Center.

• And while we are on the subject of temporary rebranding, iHeartMedia Classic Rock WPYX (PYX 106)/Albany, NY, flipped to TSO 106 Monday from 8am-midnight in honor of Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s upcoming performance at the Times Union Center. The station will be playing all-TSO tunes and offering a $5.00 discount on select TSO tickets purchased today while supplies last.

“After extensive research, we found that the time is right for an all Trans-Siberian Orchestra radio station,” said John Cooper, PD of PYX 106 and SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Albany. “TSO 106 is officially on the air, featuring the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Band members are featured as guest DJs picking the music they love. There’s been nothing like this on the radio before.”
