Orphan Andrew Named APD/MD @ The End
• Entercom Top 40 KUDL (106.5 The End)/Sacramento announces the upgrade of midday personality Orphan Andrew to APD/MD — becoming only the second MD in The End’s 21-year history. Andrew joined The End to do nights in 2010 and was upped to middays in 2012. He’s also on-air at sister stations WPXY/Rochester, NY and KAMX (Mix 94.7)/Austin, and is in-game host for the Sacramento River Cats, the San Francisco Giants’ Triple-A affiliate.
“Since joining 106.5 The End, Orphan Andrew has demonstrated his passion for the station and our listeners, and his promotion to Assistant Program Director and Music Director is a direct result of that,” said Stacey Kauffman, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Sacramento. “His long-standing relationship with his audience and broad understanding of pop culture makes him the ideal candidate. I’m excited to continue to see his positive energy and spirit in the hallways and hear what he can add to one of America’s most successful Top 40 brands.”
This is not Orphan Andrew’s first foray into the programming department — he was previously MD at KHOP/Modesto in 2008 and he has also done nights on WAPE/Jacksonville. “I’d like to extend a big thanks to [PD] Rayne, [Operations Manager] Vince Richards and Stacey Kauffman for this fantastic opportunity to grow my career with Entercom,” said Andrew, adding, “I’ll be celebrating 10 years at The End in March and can’t think of a better gift. I’m proud to be the Assistant Program Director and Music Director of this iconic brand.”
