Zander Joins ESPN 1000/Chicago

• Chicago radio veteran Mark Zander is joining Good Karma Brands Sports-Talk WMVP (ESPN 1000) as a part-time/fill-in and weekend host. The news was initially broken by — who else — Chicago media journalist Robert Feder — and confirmed by RAMP.

Mike Thomas, Market Manager for ESPN Chicago, said of Zander, “Just because he’s never done sports radio shouldn’t preclude him from talking about the teams he loves. He will be a great addition to the ESPN 1000 on-air team.”

Zander was most recently OM of Mid-West Family Mainstream Rock WXRX (104-9 The X) and WNTA (Sportsfan Radio 1330)/Rockford, IL until December, when his position was eliminated. Prior to his Rockford adventure, Zander worked extensively in Chicago radio, cracking the mic at WDRV (97.1 The Drive), WLUP, WZZN and WCKG. Zander previously programmed Classic Hits WERV (95.9 The River)/Aurora, IL and Classic Rock WRXQ (Q Rock 100.7)/Joliet, IL.
