Seattle Wakes Up With Jodi & Bender
• iHeartMedia Classic Hits KJR-FM (95.7 The Jet)/Seattle is beyond thrilled to announce the debut of 95.7 The Jet Mornings with Jodi & Bender, effective immediately.
The new show marks the welcome on-air return of veteran Seattle morning personality Bender Cunningham, best known for his 18-year run in mornings over on iHeartMedia’s KBKS (106.1 Kiss FM), who will now plug in across the console from another Seattle radio star — Jodi Brothers, a 20-year market veteran who has worked at 95.7 The Jet since 2011 and had been recently rolling solo in mornings. She previously hosted mornings with Marty Riemer and was also a cast member on The Bob Rivers Show back in the day.
“After 19 months, I’m excited to get back on the air… and with Jodi,” said Bender, also a noted philanthropist whose annual Bender’s Walk for the Kids greatly benefits Seattle Children’s Hospital. He added, “COVID-19 has had a sweeping impact across the country with so many friends being affected. While feeling extremely empathetic to those currently out of work, I’m also grateful for the opportunity to get back on the air to serve the community and help guide them through current moments like this.”
Jodi said, “I’ve known Bender for years, and I’m excited to get to work with him, blending our experience and our styles. I anticipate having a blast together, and I can’t wait to get started. Now is a great time to give people something friendly, fun, informative and local for Seattle.”
Jet PD Chris Sargent remarked, “Jodi and Bender are an amazing addition to 95.7 The Jet and embody the ‘Feel Good’ vibe of this station and this city, and I can’t wait for them to get started.” Robert Dove, Market President for iHeartMedia Seattle echoed that sentiment, adding, “Putting Jodi and Bender together gives 95.7 The Jet a dynamic morning show that will be entertaining and provide civic values to our great city of Seattle. Whether it’s Seafair or Seattle Children’s Hospital, Jodi, Bender and KJR will be there to shine a light on the good things happening in the Emerald City.”
