Pop Culture According to Fram, Barnes & Bryant
• At last count, leading scientists estimate there are approximately four billion podcasts available today, give or take… but there is a new one involving three longtime radio friends that we feel merits your attention: The Pop Culture Show stars Leslie Fram, Steve Barnes and Paul “Cubby” Bryant, and takes a weekly deep dive into… umm… pop culture, which explains the show’s snappy name.
Ms. Fram, currently VP of Music & Talent at CMT and Barnes, Atlanta-based entrepreneur, actor, producer, and owner of Barnes Creative Studios, are the former longtime co-hosts of The Morning X on the late, great 99X/Atlanta, and Cubby is the morning co-host on iHeartMedia AC WLTW 106.7 Lite FM)/New York, with previous notable stops at Z100 and WKTU/New York, and KRBE/Houston. All three have many years of craxy experiences to draw upon, and they promised to share (most of) those stories every week.
Barnes (left) describes himself as a both “a participant in pop culture and a fan. I love giving listeners access other shows just can’t because they’re on the wrong side of the studio gate.” Fram (center) says, “Shows don’t work without the chemistry of authentic friendships! Barnes is like a brother and we’ve been through many world-shattering events as broadcasters from the Olympic Park bombing to 9/11 to pop culture touchstones like the Grammys and VMAs. I’m thrilled to now have that same opportunity with the one and only Paul ‘Cubby’ Bryant!” For his part, Cubby (right) commented, “I meet and hang with a lot of very public people. Now I’ll have Barnes and Leslie to spill the beans to. This should be very therapeutic.”
The Pop Culture Show debuted Monday, June 29 with presenting sponsor wherible.com. New episodes will be available Mondays at 10am ET via Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and coming soon to Pandora. Of course the show has a trailer, and it’s available on YouTube.
