Cousin Brucie Returns To 77WABC
• Legendary radio personality Bruce Morrow, better known and loved as Cousin Brucie, is coming home to 77WABC, the iconic radio station where he first introduced fans to The Beatles, Motown, ’60s soul, surf music, and more. The Red Apple Media-owned Talk station has graciously agreed to turn its Saturday evenings from 6-9pm back into “MusicRadio” and air Cousin Brucie’s Saturday Night Rock & Roll Party, starting Sept. 5, with a Long Island simulcast on sister 107.1 WLIR/Hampton Bays, NY. The debut show will also be replayed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, from noon-3pm ET.
“Cousins, this is literally one of the most exciting projects of my life,” said Morrow, who recently left SiriusXM after 15 years. “It completes a circle… a career circle. It all started at WABC, and here we are all these years later, and the magic is still here. And what magic we’re going to make!”
“Brucie is a national treasure and talent,” said John Catsimatidis, owner of Red Apple Media. “Listeners everywhere can now hear this radio icon and their favorite music from the early days of rock and roll on our radio stations and streaming on our digital platforms.” Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media & 77WABC, said, “It’s an honor to be part of these two legendary brands coming together and to welcome Cousin Brucie home to 77WABC.”
Dave LaBrozzi, SVP of Programming for Red Apple Media & 77WABC, remarked, “We’re excited to bring MUSIC Radio back to 77WABC every Saturday night with Cousin Brucie, everyone across America can stream him and us at WABCRadio.com.” Morrow’s longtime attorney, Judy Tint, added, “I grew up listening to Cousin Brucie, and I’m still one of his biggest fans. It’s an honor to have helped bring him back to WABC, and I can’t wait to listen.”
