Luis Jimenez Returns To NYC
Univision Communications Inc. officially announces the return of Luis Jimenez to Market No. 1, as the popular personality has been hired to do mornings on Spanish Top 40 WXNY (La X 96.3 FM)/New York, starting March 13. Ramon Pineda, SVP/GM of Univision New York commented, “Univision New York is committed to bringing its audience the best programing in radio. Adding Luis as our new morning show personality on La X 96.3 is a testament of our promise to go above and beyond for our listeners.” He added, “Luis brings vast knowledge in creating multiplatform content that enhances the audience’s experience and we are excited to have him be a part of Univision New York again.”
The Puerto Rico-born Jimenez got his first radio break in Orlando, FL in 1989. Four year later, he made the leap to New York to do mornings on WSKQ and has been a staple of New York radio ever since. He joined Univision New York in 2008 to host a national show, and in 2015, Jimenez and his wife Alma launched the Luis Network, an online radio venture. Jimenez remarked, “I’m excited to get back to what I love — my fans and radio listeners. My morning crew and I know we’re going to have a great time being back on Univision, giving fans the jokes, interviews and music we know they love.”
