Virginia Is For Helpers
• Entercom today announced several key staff enhancements at heritage Top 40 WRVQ (Q94)/Richmond, completed with the cooperation of staffers from Entercom Norfolk. A staff memo from Don London, VP of Operations & Programming for Entercom Virginia laid out the new structure, starting with the promotion of Entercom Richmond Digital Program Director Deni Lee to APD of Q94. “Deni has done an excellent job in every role that she’s attained and is a real pro,” London said. “She’s smart, mature, organized and has true pride in ownership among many other great qualities. Deni quickly absorbs programming concepts and has an eye and ear for detail and great radio.”
Concurrent with her new APD duties, Lee (left) moves from middays to nights on Q94, and WNVZ (Z104)/Norfolk afternoon drive personality Chelsea (right) annexes middays on Q94. “Chelsea is bright, charismatic, very responsible and is a natural and gifted talent on and off the air,” London said. “She’s also an excellent singer and has performed at a number of Entercom Norfolk events.”
• And there’s more — Q94 afternoon drive personality/Imaging Director Matt Murphy (left) is named Music Director and adds nights on Z104/Norfolk to his duties. London said, “Matt is an amazing air talent and has an incredible work ethic. His passion and enthusiasm are contagious. Matt continues to shape our Q94 stationality through his expert imaging. Matt has a can do attitude and is a ‘radio junkie,’ which will continue to take him a long way in our business.”
• Hang on, we’re not done yet… Mike Powers (center), morning co-host on Hot AC WPTE (94.9 The Point)/Norfolk adds Sunday afternoons on Q94, and Devin (right, mornings on AC WWDE & middays on WPTE) annexes Sunday nights on Q94. London added, “These additions will complete the WRVQ lineup so we’ll have talented communicators in all shows from 6am-midnight, Monday through Sunday. We’re quite confident that these enhancements will continue Q94′ legacy of greatness in the Richmond market and in the industry.
