Twin Cities’ Go 96.3, Go 95.3 Sold To EMF
• RAMP has confirmed that the contract has been signed and an application is being filed with the FCC for the transfer of Alternative KQGO-FM (Go 96.3)/Edina, MN and Rhythmic KZGO-FM (Go 95.3)/St. Paul, MN from The Pohlad Companies (Go Media) to Educational Media Foundation (EMF), the Rocklin, CA-based non-profit that runs the Contemporary Christian KLOVE and Air1 radio networks.
The news was just posted to the Go 96.3 Twitter feed, reading, “We have sad news to share — Go 96.3 will be going away soon. The difficult decision to sell the radio station has been made — sometime in early 2021 a new format will be airing on this frequency. We want to sincerely thank you for listening to our music and personalities over the years — and for being a part of the Go Fam community. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and are forever grateful for your support. From the entire Go team, thank you, thank you, thank you.”
We are told that the deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021; until then, the stations will continue to soldier on without staff. Kalil & Co., Inc. is the exclusive broker for this transaction.
