Booker Named PM Driver @ ALT98.7/LA
• iHeartMedia Alternative KYSR (ALT 98.7)/Los Angeles has inked veteran radio/TV/podcast personality Chris Booker as its new afternoon drive personality, effective January 4, 2021. He joins ALT’s existing on-air lineup, including the nationally syndicated The Woody Show, Hudson Hott and Danica Lopez.
“Our paths have crossed for many years — mostly at The 1975 shows — and we finally found the perfect opportunity to work together,” said Lisa Worden, Vice President of Rock and Alternative for iHeartMedia and Program Director of ALT 98.7. “Chris is a pro with a knack for entertaining and a huge passion for Alternative Rock music. He’s a perfect fit for ALT 98.7, and I could not be more excited for him to join the team!”
Booker most recently did afternoon drive at Entercom Alternative WNYL (Alt 92.3)/New York since September, but is already well acquainted with the L.A. market, having spent the past decade with former Entercom Top 40 KAMP (97.1 AMP)/Los Angeles, most recently doing mornings until his departure in early April. Booker’s earlier radio career includes stops at the legendary WXRK (92.3 K-Rock), the original WNEW and Z100/New York as well as WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia and Sirius before moving to Los Angeles and debuting on AMP Radio in January 2010. He has also co-hosted the popular Perez Hilton Podcast With Chris Booker since July 2015.
