Condolences: Lee Ann Konik-Camp

• On Tuesday we learned of the passing of Lee Ann Konik-Camp, beloved MD/midday personality at Dot Com Inc. Triple A WZEW (92ZEW)/Mobile, AL, who died this week after a brave battle with cancer. Making this blow even tougher on the 92ZEW family — if such a thing is even possible — Camp (left) was the wife of WZEW PD Tim Camp (right) and the mother of their children, son Julian and daughter Cecilia (CeCe).

In an emotional Facebook post, WZEW APD/afternoon personality Gene Murrell said, “Lee Ann was more than a friend to me, She was family. We laughed, joked, argued, brainstormed and more than anything… shared a love for music and a passion for local radio. Lee Ann was the fire and bright light of this station and the community. And now that light has dimmed. She passed earlier today surrounded by her family. Thank you for all your prayers and kind wishes during this difficult time. There are no words to express how much she will be missed. I love you Lee Ann.”

Tim Camp’s niece, Cathy Camp Boyle has established a GoFundMe account to help cover the costs of Lee Ann’s hospice care and final arrangements.
