Rivera To Run Townsquare Amarillo

• Townsquare Media, Amarillo, TX announces the hire of Michael Rivera as its new Director of Content, overseeing the programming and content for Hot AC KMXJ (Mix 94.1), Country KATP (101.9 The Bull), Classic Rock KPRF (Thunder 98.7), Top 40 KXSS (96.9 Kiss FM) and News-Talk 940 KIXZ.  Rivera officially started on December 14 and succeeds Braden Smith, who exited in October.

In making the announcement, ReBecca Via, Market President of Townsquare Amarillo, said, “I’m so thrilled to have Michael bring his experience, strong leadership and enthusiasm for local content to our Amarillo team. Rivera has spent virtually his entire radio career in Texas — he most recently programmed iHeartMedia Country KHEY and AC KTSM (Sunny 99.9)/El Paso, TX until November, when he was one of hundreds downsized during the company’s widespread restructuring. Before that he spent four years with iHeartMedia Austin as APD/Programming Coordinator of Sports-Talk KVET-AM (AM 1300 The Zone) and on-air host on KTKR (760 The Ticket)/San Antonio,
