WTTS/Indy Inks Pelsor For Mornings
• Last August, Paul Mendenhall announced his impending retirement after 20 years in mornings on Sarkes Tarzian Triple A WTTS/Indianapolis, effective Jan. 15, 2021. Since that time, the search has been underway for a suitable replacement for Mendenhall, a 40-year market veteran and an inductee into the Indiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
WTTS PD Laura Duncan is pleased to announce the name of Mendenhall’s worthy successor — another veteran Indianapolis radio broadcaster and Indiana native — Matt Pelsor debuts as the new WTTS morning host on January 18. Pelsor is currently the host of All In on Indiana Public Radio’s NPR affiliate WFYI. Prior to joining WFYI in 2016, Pelsor worked in the market at iHeartMedia’s WFBQ (Q95) and the former WRZX.
Duncan remarked, “Matt has been listening to WTTS as long as I’ve worked here — which is forever! I’ve listened to Matt on a competing radio station and thought he would fit perfectly on our frequency. So now, Matt gets to create radio magic on WTTS.” Pelsor commented, “The WTTS listeners are my kind of people. Good, thoughtful Hoosiers with great taste in music. I’m very eager to connect with them.”
