To Protect & Serve & Post
• Always great to hear from our longtime friend JJ Kincaid, co-host of the Kincaid & Dallas morning show on Cumulus Country WKHX (New Country 101.Five)/Atlanta, who recounted an interesting story-within-a-story that sprung from a recent spontaneous meet-up with the Roswell, GA police department.
Kincaid, his wife and two young sons were recently out for a family walk when a Roswell police cruiser (pictured below in this stock photo “borrowed” from the Roswell PD Facebook page) drove past them, pulled a U-turn and approached. Not knowing the situation, Kincaid told RAMP he was “ready to put his hands up” — turns out the cop was very friendly and asked the boys if they wanted to see the police car lights in action. (sigh of relief). “The cop was super cool,” Kincaid says, describing the impromptu meeting as “a great feel-good moment” that he decided to share on the show the following day.
When teasing the story on-air, Kincaid only said he had “an encounter” with the Roswell PD and would be sharing details after the break. Word travels fast in those parts, and the local cops were alerted to flip on New Country 101.Five to hear about this mysterious “encounter.” Imagine everyone’s surprise and delight when Kincaid shared the heartwarming details of his family’s positive experience with the Roswell officers, who actually recorded the bit as it was broadcast and later posted the video to the department’s social media accounts. “This was a first for us,” said Kincaid, adding, “I can now say I’ve been able to aircheck myself from police dashcam footage!” [Photo from Facebook]
