Knoxville Welcomes Radio Talent Institute
The Tennessee Association of Broadcasters (TAB), the University of Tennessee Knoxville and National Radio Talent System are proud to announce the inaugural TAB Radio Talent Institute, happening May 15-24. The Institute is a ten-day immersion in radio; discovering, coaching and preparing talented broadcasting students with over 30 broadcast pros leading all the sessions in their area of expertise in on-air music radio, news and sports, digital/social media, production, promotion, sales, engineering, programming, management, etc. Students from all over the state and region apply to be accepted and will become certified Radio Marketing Professionals by the Radio Advertising Bureau.
Dan Vallie, Founder/President of the National Radio Talent System, commented, “We are very excited to be partnering with the University of Tennessee and working with Sam Swan and the College of Communication and Information, and with Benny Smith at their award-winning college station, WUTK. And we couldn’t be happier to partner with Whit Adamson, President, and the TAB, who have been supportive of the National Radio Talent System almost from the very beginning. Whit is a real pro, is great to work with, and the TAB has shown their support even prior to this partnership by providing scholarships for the Radio Talent Institute in Kentucky.”
The TAB Radio Talent Institute is now accepting applications from students, and they also encourage broadcasters to urge their interns to apply at http://tab.nationalradiotalentsystem.com/. The deadline is March 31.
