‘OHP’ Feelin’ Bright & Breezy
• United Stations’ long-running, weekend show, Open House Party, has added the talents of veteran programmer and air personality Joe Breezy to the team as Manager of Industry Relations. In his new role, Breezy (left) will work closely with OHP‘s long-time host, Kannon, on guest bookings, music programming and other feature elements of the show. He will also fill-in for Kannon on occasion.
And yes, Breezy will retain his current position as Brand Manager of Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WNFN (Hot 106.7)/Nashville, an affiliate of both the Saturday and Sunday editions of Open House Party, which has been distributed by United Stations since 2013.
United Stations’ EVP of Programming Andy Denemark commented, “The combination of Kannon and Joe Breezy gives Open House Party the best one-two punch in Top 40 radio. The guys have a great working relationship, they both have a fantastic understanding of the CHR format, and together their reputations among the record companies, artists and management companies is flawless. We are totally fired up about what’s next in terms of the musical guests on Open House Party.”
“Open House Party is an iconic brand and it’s an honor to be on the team,” said Breezy, who most recently hosted United Stations’ The Celebrity Top Ten Countdown prior to his involvement with OHP. “Music is in a really exciting place right now, and I’m excited about helping to showcase today’s biggest artists on the most time-honored show in the format.”
Open House Party has been entertaining and engaging radio audiences on Saturday nights since 1987. The show, with its original host, John Garabedian, was expanded to Sundays, which Kannon took over in 2005. Kannon has been hosting both weekend Open House Party shows since February 2017.
