Kovacik On Duty At Townsquare Victoria
• In case you missed this announcement back in July, Townsquare Media tapped longtime Texas radio pro Jim Kovacik as the new Director of Content for the company’s Victoria, TX stations — Country KIXS, Top 40 KQVT (Q92), Classic Rock KLUB, and Adult Hits KTXN (98.7 Jack FM). He replaces Wes Adams, who was recently promoted to Director of Content for the Townsquare’s Grand Junction, CO stations.
Market President Mason Benitez said, “Jim is an energetic, multi-talented, forward-thinking pro. I had the pleasure of working with him in Houston and know firsthand about the impact he can have. I’m thrilled to be partnering with Jim to build on our success in Southeast Texas.”
Kovacik, a.k.a. “Jimbo,” famously spent nearly 30 years with Radio One Rhythmic KBXX (97.9 The Box)/Houston in various roles — morning co-host, producer, Creative Services Director, to name a few. As we reported a year ago, in his off-hours, Kovacik and his former KBXX colleague Rob Scorpio operate the podcast consultancy Podcast PDs.
