Buster & Christina Inspire & Educate
• Promo pro Joe Riccitelli, former RCA Records’ co-president and the Founder of Gold’n Retriever Entertainment caught up with us this week to share an inspirational story in honor of Mental Health Awareness month — Christina Pellegrino, the talented daughter of Joe’s longtime mentor and family friend, the late, legendary Vince Pellegrino has written a children’s book called Buster and The Brain Bully (Mascot Books), the story of her very own Golden Retriever “Buster” and his journey through positive mental health.
Buster and the Brain Bully is a very special book that was inspired by Pellegrino’s own experience with mental health challenges, and the therapeutic work that she and Buster did together in hospitals, schools, and libraries. “I had been wanting to write a book forever, but due to my struggles I thought I’d never be able to see it through,” said Pellegrino. “Buster’s healing ability was something I recognized in my own struggle and this called me to share him with others through pet therapy and now, through this book. He became my voice. He really saved my life and has become my connection to the world.”
Buster and Christina are passionate about making a difference in the world of mental health, and they are strong believers in the power of the human-animal connection. The duo works with Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, as well as Reading Education Assistance Dogs® (R.E.A.D.®).
Buster and the Brain Bully is now available at Amazon.com and Christina is scheduled to do a book signing this month at the local library in Cedar Grove, NJ.
