Radio Stands With Ukraine
• At 10am ET Friday, in a stirring show of solidarity and support for the people of Ukraine in their fight with the invading forces from Russia, Dick Broadcasting Top 40 WMYB (Energy 92.1)/Myrtle Beach, SC will rebrand itself as UKRAINE 92.1. All weekend long, UKRAINE 92.1 will also pay tribute to people from Ukraine who now live in the Myrtle Beach area, while the station’s on-air staff will pass along information on how listeners can help with fundraising and relief efforts.
“It’s sad to see a country invade another country for no reason,” said Zack Williams, PD of Energy/UKRAINE 92.1. “Speaking to Ukrainians here in Myrtle Beach, who have family and friends still in Ukraine, makes this situation hit close to home, and I hope everyone takes the time to listen and helps them in their fight for peace.”
OM Charlie Steele said, “Kudos to Zack and his team for finding a compelling way to connect a war over 5,000 miles away to people living here in Myrtle Beach.” For more details, or for press inquiries, please email zwilliams@dbcradio.com or csteele@dbcradio.com.
