First Day The Best Day Of Summer
• A longstanding Tri-State area radio tradition is back on the air, as Joe Nolan’s First Day of Summer returns! Hey, and speaking of Tri-State radio traditions, say hello to beloved longtime New York traffic reporter-to-the-stars Joe Nolan, famous for his tenure at the late, MusicRadio 77 WABC as traffic anchor for the late, legendary Dan Ingram, later moving over to WPLJ and WCBS-FM, and, since March, a member of the Robby & Rochelle morning show on Press Communications’ Classic Rock simulcast WWZY/WBHX (107-1 & 99.7 The Boss)/Monmouth-Ocean, NJ.
The 2022 edition of Joe Nolan’s First Day of Summer returns Friday, May 27 starting at 6am and running through the afternoon at the Crab’s Claw in Lavalette, literally on the Jersey Shore. The free event will feature live performances by Nine Days’ John Hampson, American Idol contestant (and New Jersey native) Cole Hallman and, of course, Nolan’s famous tribute to the Garden State, as he playing Bruce Springsteen‘s “Born to Run.” Perhaps you’ve heard it before.
During the day, one lucky patron will win front row tickets to 107.1 The Boss presents brand new Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo at the Count Basie theater in Red Bank, NJ! Robby Bridges, Boss PD/morning co-host, said, “This tradition began as a beloved annual event on the late great WPLJ (where Joe and I first worked together), and it’s a thrill to bring it back to the airwaves for the first time in a few years right here on 107.1 The Boss!” Nolan added, “It’s gonna be fun… a good day!”
